Surprised by Oxford: A Review Of A Memoir

"Surprised by Oxford" by Carolyn Weber is a memoir of the author who after starting her studies at Balliol College at Oxford University began to have conflicts about Jesus after meeting TDH (Tall, Dark, Handsome) a young man who has a strong faith in Christ. And this, actually, took her through an interesting process that get her to gives her live to Jesus.

After the Prologue (where she talks about Dr. Deveaux, a Christian and her professor of poetry) I got excited but then I started to fight to go through, her style and the alternations that she made in the first chapters between her getting to Oxford and her childhood, made the book uncomfortable to read. It is an smart memoir, but I think she made an extra effort to made the book “smarter” and that is maybe her target: smart people that are struggling with God. That grab my attention at first, but it was a long read and hard to finish.
